What This Skill Does
Sets up a daily cron job that generates a new historical or philosophical story each morning from a pool of 100+ figures across seven civilizations. Each delivery includes a verified original-language quote, a 500-900 word narrative, and a concrete modern parallel. A history file tracks past deliveries to prevent repeats across months.
Unlike static quote apps, each story is freshly generated from a 100+ source pool with automatic repeat prevention, so the content stays novel for months without manual curation.
When to use it
- Morning Stoic or philosophical reflection via Slack
- Daily cultural history story for a family group chat
- Rotating wisdom tradition for a team newsletter
- Personal learning habit with varied global traditions
- Weekend deep-dive into a lesser-known civilization
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Set up a daily wisdom cron at 7:30am Istanbul time, delivering to Slack
- 1Creates memory/anecdote-history.md to track past deliveries
- 2Configures a cron job with schedule 30 7 * * * in Europe/Istanbul timezone
- 3At fire time, reads the history file and picks a source not recently covered
- 4Searches the web to verify the original-language quote and key historical facts
- 5Generates a 600-900 word story with quote, narrative, and modern connection, then appends today's entry to the history file
A formatted daily message with original-language quote, translation, full historical narrative, and modern parallel, posted to the configured Slack channel
