Version History
- Documentation was streamlined by moving setup and installation instructions to the GitHub repository and referencing it directly. - No changes were made to functionality or commands; only SKILL.md documentation was affected. - The skill is now quicker to scan, with a simpler Quick Start and a shorter intro.
What This Skill Does
beepctl is a CLI for the Beeper Desktop API that lets you send messages, search conversations, and manage chats across multiple messaging platforms from the terminal. It wraps Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, iMessage, and other platforms connected to Beeper into a single unified interface.
Instead of switching between separate apps for each platform, you control Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, and iMessage through one CLI.
When to use it
- Searching for a specific message across all connected messaging platforms
- Sending yourself a quick note without switching to any app
- Setting a follow-up reminder on a chat thread
- Archiving old conversations from a script or automation
- Replying to a message using an alias instead of a long chat ID
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Find messages about the deploy from yesterday and reply to the most recent one
- 1Runs `beepctl search "deploy" --after "1d ago"` to find matching messages
- 2Identifies the most recent result, noting its chat ID and message ID
- 3Shows the user the proposed reply text and target message for confirmation
- 4After user confirms, runs `beepctl send <chat-id> "<reply>" --reply-to <msg-id>`
Reply sent to the most recent deploy-related message from the past day
