Version History

v1.0.7Mar 10, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

aminer-open-academic 1.0.7 - Updated SKILL.md documentation to use English instead of Chinese throughout. - Clarified usage scenarios, workflow overviews, and API examples for international users. - No code changes; all logic, workflows, and API structures remain unchanged. - Ensured all rules, guidance, and error messages are now available in clear English.

What This Skill Does

Connects to the AMiner Open Platform to query academic data across scholars, papers, institutions, journals, and patents. Wraps 28 individual APIs into 6 combined workflows with built-in cost control, free-first API routing, and automatic retry logic. Requires an AMiner API token set as an environment variable before any query runs.

Automatically routes each query through the cheapest viable API path, so users get accurate academic data without manually managing which of the 28 endpoints to call or overspending on paid tiers.

When to use it

  • Looking up a researcher's publication history and citation metrics
  • Searching for papers on a topic filtered by author, institution, or journal
  • Analyzing a university's research output and patent portfolio
  • Tracking papers published in a specific conference or journal for a given year
  • Finding patents in a technology domain by keyword
