Version History
- Refactored core script: merged functionality into scripts/uk_prayer_times.py for improved structure. - Removed redundant root files: uk_prayer_times.py and prompt.txt are no longer included. - No changes to user-facing features or documentation.
What This Skill Does
Fetches Islamic prayer times for any UK location using the Aladhan API with the ISNA calculation method. Accepts city names, boroughs, and neighborhoods, with fuzzy matching for typos. Auto-detects location via IP if no location is specified.
Combining IP-based auto-detection with fuzzy location search means you get accurate times without knowing the exact spelling of a UK place name.
When to use it
- Checking Fajr time before waking up in a new UK city
- Getting Maghrib time while traveling between UK towns
- Asking for Asr in a specific London borough
- Quickly verifying Isha time without opening a separate app
- Looking up all six prayer times for the current day
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: prayer times Leicester
- 1Parses 'Leicester' as the target location
- 2Applies fuzzy matching to resolve the location name
- 3Calls Aladhan API with Leicester coordinates using ISNA method
- 4Formats the six prayer times in 12-hour AM/PM format
