What This Skill Does
Automates graphic design asset creation including app icons, favicons, and color palettes. Uses macOS-native tools and ImageMagick for image processing, with AI image generation for creating assets from text prompts.
Combines macOS-native sips for fast resizing with ImageMagick for complex operations, eliminating the need to switch between GUI tools for different tasks.
When to use it
- Generating all iOS and Android app icon sizes from one source file
- Creating a complete favicon set for a new website
- Building a color palette from a single brand color
- Batch converting or resizing images for different screen densities
- Adding text overlays or borders to images programmatically
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Generate all required favicons from my logo.png
- 1Receives source PNG file path
- 2Runs sips to generate 16x16, 32x32, 180x180, 192x192, and 512x512 PNG variants
- 3Uses ImageMagick to combine 16x16 and 32x32 PNGs into a favicon.ico file
- 4Outputs HTML meta tags and a site.webmanifest template
Favicon files in the output directory plus ready-to-use HTML and manifest snippets
