Setup & Installation

Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:

npx clawhub install compress-pdf

What This Skill Does

Compresses PDF files using the Cross-Service-Solutions API. Uploads the file, polls for job completion, and returns a download URL for the compressed result. Supports configurable image quality and DPI settings.

Handles the full upload-poll-download cycle automatically, so users get a ready-to-use download link without manual API interaction.

When to use it

  • Shrinking large PDF reports before emailing
  • Reducing PDF size to meet upload limits on web forms
  • Compressing scanned documents for cloud storage
  • Preparing PDFs for faster sharing over slow connections
  • Batch-reducing file sizes before archiving

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: 'Compress this PDF with image quality 60 and 96 DPI'

AGENT
  1. 1Accepts the PDF file and API key from the user
  2. 2POSTs the file to /api/29 with imageQuality=60 and dpi=96 as multipart/form-data
  3. 3Polls GET /api/<job_id> until the job status indicates completion
  4. 4Extracts the download URL from output.files[]
OUTPUT

{"job_id": 456, "status": "done", "download_url": "https://.../compressed.pdf", "file_name": "compressed.pdf", "settings": {"imageQuality": 60, "dpi": 96}}
