Setup & Installation
Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
A guide and utility for structuring an agent's filesystem into a three-brain model: working memory, a structured library on disk, and external references. Helps agents set up named folders, index files, and reference stubs instead of storing everything in one place. Designed for LYGO/Eternal Haven systems but works with any agent that can read and write files.
Structured indexes and reference stubs let agents retrieve specific memories without scanning the entire file tree.
When to use it
- Setting up folder structure on a fresh agent workspace
- Creating index files for a cluttered memory directory
- Adding daily health logs to track agent activity over time
- Building reference stubs to link documents without duplicating content
- Auditing a messy filesystem before making structural changes
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Set up a clean memory system for my new agent workspace
- 1Detect existing folders (memory/, reference/, state/, logs/, tmp/)
- 2Report what exists and what is missing
- 3Propose a BOOK BRAIN layout for the missing folders
- 4Create missing folders and starter index files (memory/INDEX.txt, state/memory_index.json)
- 5Append a setup note to logs/book_brain_setup.log
