Setup & Installation
Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
What This Skill Does
Searches across multiple self-hosted Git platforms in parallel, including Codeberg, Gitea.com, OpenDev, NotABug, and Gitdab. Supports API-based search with automatic fallback to SearXNG web search when APIs are unreachable. Custom private instances can be added with optional API token authentication.
Covers the long tail of open-source projects that exist only on non-GitHub forges, which no single-platform search tool reaches.
When to use it
- Finding open-source projects hosted outside GitHub
- Searching for forks or mirrors on alternative Git hosts
- Discovering tools on privacy-focused forges like Codeberg
- Adding a private self-hosted Gitea to your search scope
- Checking which federated instances host a specific library
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: search all instances for 'whisper'
- 1Sends parallel API requests to Codeberg, Gitea.com, OpenDev, NotABug, and Gitdab
- 2Detects reachability of each instance before querying
- 3Falls back to SearXNG web search for any unreachable instance
- 4Aggregates and deduplicates results across all responses
- 5Sorts final results by star count
