What This Skill Does
Converts natural language descriptions into Excalidraw JSON diagram files. Supports flowcharts, mind maps, ER diagrams, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, swimlane charts, and architecture diagrams. Output files open directly in Excalidraw.
Skips manual drawing entirely by generating valid Excalidraw JSON from plain text, which is faster than building diagrams by hand in the editor.
When to use it
- Map out a user registration flow as a flowchart
- Generate a database ER diagram from entity descriptions
- Create a mind map for a brainstorming session
- Visualize microservice architecture and component dependencies
- Diagram a multi-actor business process with swimlanes
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Create a flowchart for a password reset process
- 1Identifies diagram type as flowchart and extracts steps: request reset, send email, verify token, set new password, confirm success
- 2Assigns coordinates using vertical layout with 150px vertical gap between steps
- 3Generates rectangle elements for each step and diamond for the token verification decision point
- 4Connects elements with arrows and applies consistent color scheme
- 5Saves output as password-reset-flow.excalidraw
