What This Skill Does
Worldbook is a CLI tool for querying and managing a shared knowledge base designed for AI agents. It lets agents fetch plain-text instructions for third-party services by name, then inject that context into their workflow. The knowledge base is browsable at worldbook.site and editable via CLI.
Using stdin/stdout text over Skills or MCP means no registry dependency, no server setup, and no SDK — any agent that can run a shell command can use it.
When to use it
- Fetching API usage instructions before calling an unfamiliar service
- Searching available knowledge sources by keyword
- Adding new service documentation to a shared agent knowledge base
- Injecting service-specific context into an agent's prompt at runtime
- Discovering what tools exist for a given domain like payments or storage
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: How do I create a GitHub issue?
- 1Run `worldbook query github` to confirm a github worldbook exists
- 2Run `worldbook get github` to fetch the plain-text instructions
- 3Read the returned instructions and inject them into context
- 4Execute `gh issue create --title "..." --body "..."` using the learned syntax
A GitHub issue is created using the instructions retrieved from the worldbook knowledge base
