Version History
- Added skill manifest file: dub-youtube-with-voiceai.yaml to support discovery and integration. - No changes to core functionality or documentation.
What This Skill Does
Converts written scripts into YouTube-ready voiceovers using Voice.ai TTS. Produces numbered audio segments, a stitched master file, chapter timestamps, SRT captions, and a review page. Can replace the audio track on an existing video in one command.
Segment-level caching means only changed sections are re-rendered, so editing a script mid-production doesn't restart the entire TTS job.
When to use it
- Dubbing a screen recording with an AI voice
- Generating captions and chapter markers for a tutorial
- Producing Spanish or French versions of an existing video
- Iterating on one section of a long-form script without re-rendering everything
- Creating consistent narration across a batch of course videos
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: dub my-recording.mp4 using the script my-script.md with the Oliver voice
- 1Reads my-script.md and splits it into segments by ## headings
- 2Calls Voice.ai TTS for each segment, caching results by content hash
- 3Stitches segments into master.wav using ffmpeg
- 4Muxes master.wav onto my-recording.mp4 to produce muxed.mp4
- 5Writes chapters.txt, captions.srt, description.txt, and review.html to the output directory
out/my-recording/muxed.mp4 ready to upload, with chapters.txt and captions.srt for YouTube Studio
