Version History
v2.0.3: Sync version, add ONNX embedding check
What This Skill Does
Runs automated health checks on an index1 environment and reports what's broken. Covers Python version, SQLite, embedding models, Ollama connectivity, CJK support, and index state. Outputs fix commands for each failed check.
Runs three diagnostic commands in sequence and maps each result to a specific fix, so users don't have to manually trace failures across Python, SQLite, and Ollama separately.
When to use it
- Verifying index1 works after a fresh install
- Diagnosing why vector search stopped returning results
- Checking CJK/Chinese language support before indexing multilingual docs
- Confirming Ollama and embedding models are available
- Running before filing a bug report to gather environment info
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: diagnose my index1 setup
- 1Runs `index1 doctor` and checks Python version, SQLite version, sqlite-vec, ONNX embedding, Ollama connection, and CJK support
- 2Runs `index1 status` to retrieve document count, chunk count, collections, and database size
- 3Runs `ollama list` to check which embedding models are installed
- 4Compares results against required versions and known good states
- 5Reports which checks passed or failed with the corresponding fix command for each failure
A summary of environment health with actionable fix commands for any failed checks
