Version History

v1.2.0Feb 15, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Add --topic, --search, and --label options for targeted issue fetching. Enables filtering by component (e.g. telegram, agents) instead of only analyzing the most recent issues.

What This Skill Does

Analyzes open GitHub issues in a repository and ranks them by an Adjusted Score that combines ROI with penalties for solution sanity, architectural impact, and actionability. Helps identify quick wins, detect over-engineered proposals, and filter out non-actionable items. Read-only — never modifies repositories.

Combines four scoring dimensions into a single ranked list so you don't have to manually weigh importance, effort, solution risk, and readiness separately.

When to use it

  • Triaging a backlog before a sprint planning session
  • Finding beginner-friendly issues for new contributors
  • Spotting over-engineered proposals before wasting review time
  • Filtering out questions and duplicates from a noisy issue tracker
  • Checking which open issues already have PRs in progress

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Prioritize the top 30 open issues in owner/repo

AGENT
  1. 1Fetch 30 open issues using gh issue list with full JSON fields
  2. 2Fetch open PRs and detect which issues are already addressed via explicit links, references, title similarity, or semantic matching
  3. 3Score each remaining issue on difficulty, importance, tripping scale, architectural impact, and actionability
  4. 4Calculate Adjusted Score as ROI multiplied by tripping, architectural, and actionability multipliers
  5. 5Present ranked report grouped into quick wins, critical bugs, tripping issues, over-engineered proposals, and not-actionable items
OUTPUT

Ranked issue prioritization report with scores, category flags, contributor level recommendations, and excluded issues that have existing PRs
