Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
Version History
Add workspace mode with SPIRIT_SOURCE_DIR, symlinked config, optional gh requirement
What This Skill Does
SPIRIT backs up AI agent state, including identity files, memory logs, and project files, to a private Git repository. It runs in standard mode from ~/.spirit/ or in workspace mode linked to an OpenClaw directory. Syncs can be triggered manually or on a cron schedule.
Stores agent state in plain Git, so identity and memory survive reinstalls and machine migrations without a proprietary cloud service.
When to use it
- Backing up agent memory before switching machines
- Restoring a full agent identity on a new device
- Syncing conversation logs across multiple workspaces
- Scheduling automatic state snapshots every 15 minutes
- Migrating an agent's complete state to a new environment
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Set up SPIRIT to back up my agent's identity and memory to a private GitHub repo
- 1Runs `spirit init --workspace=/root/.openclaw/workspace --name="orion" --emoji="🌌"` to initialize workspace mode
- 2Adds the git remote with `git remote add origin git@github.com:USER/PRIVATE-REPO.git`
- 3Reviews `.spirit-tracked` to confirm which files are included in the sync
- 4Runs `spirit sync` to push current state to the private repository
- 5Adds a crontab entry to run `spirit sync` every 15 minutes automatically
Agent identity, memory, and project files are versioned and pushed to the private GitHub repository, syncing on schedule
