What This Skill Does
Kagi FastGPT runs a live web search and returns a synthesized answer with cited references via the Kagi FastGPT API. Built with a Go binary for fast startup and no runtime dependencies. Costs 1.5¢ per query; cached responses are free.
Returns a single synthesized answer with citations instead of a list of links the user must read and interpret themselves.
When to use it
- Checking the latest release version of a library or framework
- Getting a quick answer about current events without sifting through raw results
- Looking up API configuration syntax with sourced documentation
- Answering factual questions where recency matters
- Verifying pricing or availability of a service at query time
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: What is the latest stable version of Node.js?
- 1Invokes kagi-fastgpt.sh with the query string
- 2Kagi FastGPT performs a live web search under the hood
- 3API synthesizes search results into a concise answer
- 4Skill prints the answer text followed by numbered references with URLs and snippets
- 5Token usage and remaining API balance are reported to stderr
A direct answer stating the current Node.js LTS version, with 2-3 cited references linking to nodejs.org release pages and changelogs
