Setup & Installation

openclaw skills install @johntheyoung/comfy-cli

Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:

npx clawhub install comfy-cli

What This Skill Does

comfy-cli manages ComfyUI installations from the command line. It handles installing ComfyUI with the correct GPU backend, managing custom nodes, downloading models, and running API workflows against a live server.

Replaces manual git cloning, pip installs, and browser downloads with a single CLI that also handles snapshots and dependency resolution across nodes.

When to use it

  • Setting up ComfyUI on a new machine with the right GPU drivers
  • Installing and updating custom node packs like ComfyUI-Impact-Pack
  • Downloading gated models from CivitAI or Hugging Face
  • Running a workflow JSON file against a remote ComfyUI instance
  • Diagnosing which custom node broke a working setup using bisect

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: install ComfyUI on an Apple Silicon Mac, add the Impact Pack, and run a workflow

AGENT
  1. 1Run `comfy install --m-series` to install ComfyUI with the correct Metal backend
  2. 2Run `comfy launch --background` to start the server
  3. 3Run `comfy node install ComfyUI-Impact-Pack` to add the node
  4. 4Run `comfy run --workflow workflow_api.json --wait --verbose` to execute the workflow
OUTPUT

ComfyUI runs in the background, the Impact Pack is installed, and the workflow completes with verbose output in the terminal
