Setup & Installation
Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:
Version History
- Expanded documentation on trust and security; clarified why the Rush registry is used by default and how registry selection works. - Added instructions to prefer globally installed `reskill` CLI, falling back to `npx` only if needed. - Improved and streamlined guidance on resolving registries and command examples. - No functional code changes—documentation only.
What This Skill Does
Discovers and installs agent skills from the reskill ecosystem using CLI commands. Searches the Rush community registry by default and installs skills into the appropriate agent directory (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, etc.). Uses a progressive search strategy to maximize results across registries.
The progressive search strategy (multi-word, hyphenated, single keyword, synonyms) and automatic agent directory detection reduce manual configuration to nearly zero.
When to use it
- Finding a skill when stuck on a repetitive coding task
- Searching for PR review or changelog automation skills
- Installing a skill to a specific AI coding agent like Cursor or Windsurf
- Listing already-installed skills to avoid installing duplicates
- Discovering skills by category such as testing, DevOps, or documentation
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: find a skill for reviewing pull requests
- 1Check if reskill is installed globally with `which reskill`
- 2Search registry with `reskill find "pr review" --json --registry https://rush.zhenguanyu.com`
- 3If no results, retry with hyphenated query `pr-review`, then single keyword `review`
- 4Present matching skills with name, description, version, and install command
- 5Detect agent directories (.cursor/, .claude/, etc.) and confirm install target before running `reskill install`
