Version History
Version 1.0.2 - Added initial OpenAI agent configuration file: agents/openai.yaml - Updated SKILL.md to include a metadata section detailing required environment variables, inputs, and storage requirements.
What This Skill Does
Connects to the Brek Partner Core Chat API to run hotel-search and booking assistant flows. Manages session lifecycle per end user, routes typed events with idempotency keys, enforces anti-abuse call controls, and handles payment confirmation without touching raw card data.
Bundles idempotency enforcement, rate-limit backoff, circuit breaking, and PCI-safe payment routing into one skill, so you don't build those guardrails from scratch against the Brek API.
When to use it
- Starting a hotel-search session for a new traveler
- Sending a booking event with a deterministic idempotency key to avoid duplicate reservations
- Redirecting a user to a provider-hosted payment portal instead of collecting card details in chat
- Cancelling an existing booking through the agent API
- Throttling retries and opening a circuit breaker after repeated 5xx failures from Brek
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Find me a hotel in Paris for March 20-22 and book the cheapest option
- 1POST /sessions with stable actorId to create a new Brek chat session
- 2POST /events with a hotel-search query; read data.result.artifacts for the shortlist
- 3Present shortlist to user and collect their chosen option ID
- 4POST /events with kind=command_book_by_option_id and idempotencyKey=<partnerId>:<sessionId>:<kind>:<clientActionId>
- 5Return payment setup URL from artifacts; await tokenized paymentMethodId before sending action_confirm_payment_card
Booking confirmation object with reservation metadata returned in data.result.artifacts
