What This Skill Does
Lotus Wisdom is a structured, interactive contemplative framework for working through complex problems step by step. Each step uses a named wisdom domain (open, examine, meditate, transform, express, etc.) drawn from Buddhist teaching, and the agent stops after each step until the user asks to continue. Designed for paradoxes, creative blocks, and decisions that resist quick answers.
Forcing genuine pauses between steps prevents the AI from collapsing multi-stage reflection into a single synthesized answer, which is what most LLM responses do by default.
When to use it
- Untangling a creative block on a long-form writing project
- Thinking through a major career change with competing priorities
- Working through an ethical dilemma with no clear right answer
- Exploring a philosophical or meaning-of-life question at your own pace
- Approaching a system design problem that needs holistic rather than linear thinking
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: I feel stuck between staying at a stable job I've outgrown and pursuing something riskier that excites me. Can we work through this?
- 1Presents Step 1 [open]: Creates receptive space around the tension without resolving it, then stops
- 2User says 'continue'; agent presents Step 2 [examine]: Investigates both sides of the dilemma and what each represents, then stops
- 3User says 'continue'; agent presents Step 3 [recognize]: Names the underlying values in conflict, then stops
- 4User says 'continue'; agent presents Step 4 [integrate]: Weaves the polarities into a third framing neither side could see alone, then stops
- 5User says 'continue'; agent presents Step 5 [express]: Articulates the emerged insight in plain language as a natural conclusion
A multi-step reflection that surfaces a reframe the user didn't have at the start, arrived at through paced dialogue rather than immediate advice
