What This Skill Does
Covers end-to-end migration of email, contacts, and calendars from Google Workspace or Gmail to Microsoft 365. Supports org-wide bulk migrations, per-user MBOX imports via Google Takeout, and manual IMAP-based transfers. Includes DNS/MX cutover steps and post-migration validation checklists.
Covers all three migration paths with specific tooling for each scenario, so you don't have to guess which method applies to your source environment or scale.
When to use it
- Moving a company off Google Workspace to Microsoft 365
- Importing a personal Gmail archive into Outlook
- Switching a small team from G Suite to Exchange Online
- Handling MX cutover with minimal downtime during a domain migration
- Validating that contacts and calendar events transferred correctly after migration
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Migrate our 40-person company from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365
- 1Run pre-migration checklist: count users and mailbox sizes, confirm active Microsoft 365 subscription, verify Google Workspace Super Admin access and DNS access
- 2Create a Google service account with domain-wide delegation in Google Admin Console
- 3Upload the service account key to Microsoft 365 Admin Center under Migration > Data Migration, selecting Google Workspace as source
- 4Build a CSV mapping source Gmail addresses to destination Microsoft 365 addresses and start the migration, monitoring per-user progress in Admin Center
- 5After data transfer completes, update MX records to Microsoft mail protection, set SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, then run per-user validation checks
All mailboxes, contacts, and calendars migrated to Microsoft 365; MX records pointing to Outlook; users validated and receiving email in Outlook
