What This Skill Does
Sends promo or alert messages to a Discord webhook on a controlled schedule. A JSONL ledger enforces a maximum of one successful post per day per channel. Includes dry-run mode and URL redaction to prevent accidental spam or webhook exposure.
The built-in ledger prevents accidental duplicate posts that manual webhook scripts have no guard against.
When to use it
- Posting daily release announcements to a Discord server
- Rotating through a list of promotional messages on a set cadence
- Validating a posting schedule before going live with --dry-run
- Auditing past posts via the JSONL ledger
- Scheduling alerts to a private Discord channel without exposing the webhook URL
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: post the next message from my rotation file to the openclaw-discord channel
- 1Check the ledger to verify no post has been sent to this channel today
- 2Load messages.txt and select the next unposted message in rotation
- 3Call promo_scheduler.py rotate with the webhook URL, channel, and messages file
- 4Record the result in the JSONL ledger with date, channel, status, and hash
- 5Confirm the post was sent and log is updated
Message posted to Discord webhook and ledger entry written to ~/.openclaw/webhook-promo-ledger.jsonl
