Version History
infra-watchdog 1.1.0 - No file changes detected in this version. - Documentation remains unchanged.
What This Skill Does
Infra Watchdog monitors self-hosted infrastructure locally without external SaaS dependencies. It checks HTTP endpoints, TCP ports, Docker containers, system resources, SSL certificates, DNS resolution, and Proxmox VMs. Alerts are delivered via WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord with configurable cooldown periods.
Runs entirely on your own machine with no SaaS account or subscription required, keeping all monitoring data local in SQLite.
When to use it
- Get alerted when a self-hosted API goes down
- Monitor SSL certificate expiry 30 days in advance
- Track Docker container health across a homelab stack
- Receive disk usage warnings before services crash
- Watch Proxmox VM and container status via local API
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: monitor my PostgreSQL port and alert me on Telegram if it goes down
- 1Runs `infra-watchdog init` to set up the data directory and default config
- 2Edits config.json to set `alert_channel` to `telegram`
- 3Runs `infra-watchdog add-monitor --type tcp --name "PostgreSQL" --host localhost --port 5432`
- 4Runs `infra-watchdog cron-install` to schedule checks every 5 minutes
- 5Runs `infra-watchdog dashboard` to confirm the monitor appears and is UP
PostgreSQL TCP monitor is active; a Telegram alert fires automatically if port 5432 becomes unreachable
