What This Skill Does
Fetches WaniKani learning progress via the API and stores it in a local SQLite database. Supports incremental sync to avoid redundant API calls. Data includes assignments, reviews, level progressions, subjects, and statistics.
Storing data locally in SQLite lets you run arbitrary SQL queries and build custom reports without hitting API rate limits on every analysis.
When to use it
- Backing up WaniKani progress data locally
- Identifying leeches and low-accuracy items
- Analyzing review accuracy by subject type
- Tracking time spent at each WaniKani level
- Querying SRS stage distribution across all items
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

- 3Run python3 scripts/queries.py leeches to query low-accuracy Apprentice-stage items
- 4Join review_statistics with subjects and assignments tables to include kanji characters
