What This Skill Does
snipgrapher converts source code files into rendered images in SVG, PNG, or WebP formats via a CLI. It supports named profiles and project-level config for reproducible output, and can process batches of snippets in a single run.
Named profiles and a persistent project config let you render consistent images repeatedly without re-specifying options each time, unlike ad-hoc screenshot tools.
When to use it
- Generating code images for README files
- Creating snippet assets for social media posts
- Producing visuals for changelogs or release notes
- Batch-exporting highlighted code for documentation sites
- Automating snippet rendering in a build pipeline
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: render my auth.ts snippet as a PNG for a blog post
- 1Run snipgrapher init to create a project config if one does not exist
- 2Define a profile in the config with the desired theme, font, and output format set to PNG
- 3Run the snipgrapher CLI targeting auth.ts with the named profile
- 4Confirm the output file is written to the specified output path
