What This Skill Does

Controls Apple Notes from the terminal using the `memo` CLI. Supports creating, editing, deleting, searching, moving, and exporting notes to HTML or Markdown.

Lets you manage Apple Notes entirely from the command line, enabling scripting and automation that the Notes.app GUI does not support.

When to use it

  • Quickly jotting down a note without opening the Notes app
  • Searching across all notes for a keyword from the terminal
  • Exporting a note to Markdown for use in a document
  • Moving notes between folders in batch workflows
  • Scripting note creation as part of a larger automation

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: search my notes for 'meeting agenda' and export the result to Markdown

AGENT
  1. 1Run `memo notes -s 'meeting agenda'` to find matching notes
  2. 2Present the list of results to the user
  3. 3Run `memo notes -ex` and select the target note
  4. 4Save the exported Markdown output to the desired location
OUTPUT

A Markdown file containing the contents of the matched note
