What This Skill Does
Connects to Bear on macOS via the grizzly CLI to create, read, append, search, and tag notes programmatically. Communicates with Bear through its x-callback-url API. Bear must be running for any command to work.
Grizzly exposes Bear's full callback API as shell commands, making it scriptable without writing custom URL-scheme integrations.
When to use it
- Automatically create meeting notes with predefined tags
- Append daily log entries to an existing note
- Search notes by tag from a terminal workflow
- Pipe command output directly into a new Bear note
- List all tags to audit note organization
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: 'Save this build summary to my Bear inbox'
- 1Formats the build summary text
- 2Pipes the text to grizzly create with --title and --tag inbox flags
- 3Waits for Bear to confirm note creation via --enable-callback
- 4Returns the new note ID from Bear's JSON response
A new Bear note titled with the build summary, tagged 'inbox', confirmed with its note ID
