What This Skill Does

Adapts to your game design instincts over time, learning your preferences around mechanics, player experience, and creative philosophy. Covers core loops, systems thinking, progression, feedback design, and player psychology across skill levels from new to advanced designers. The skill tracks which design dimensions you engage with most and speaks to your specific orientation.

It tracks your specific design orientation (systems, narrative, feel, or experience) and adapts its language and frame accordingly, rather than giving the same generic theory to every designer.

When to use it

  • Stress-testing a core loop before committing to a full design
  • Scoping a solo project down to its shippable minimum
  • Running a postmortem on an abandoned or shipped prototype
  • Designing a companion character's personality and idle behaviors
  • Getting focused critique on a mechanic that isn't feeling right
