What This Skill Does
Connects to 14+ biomedical databases, including ChEMBL, PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, OpenTargets, and OpenFDA, through a single MCP endpoint. Covers drug repurposing, target discovery, clinical trial searches, literature review, and adverse event assessment. Most databases require no authentication.
Querying ChEMBL, PubMed, OpenTargets, ClinicalTrials.gov, and 10+ other databases separately requires learning different APIs and data formats; this skill routes all of them through one endpoint.
When to use it
- Finding approved and investigational drugs for a rare disease
- Identifying therapeutic targets linked to a condition, ranked by evidence score
- Checking FDA adverse event reports for a specific drug
- Searching PubMed for gene-disease or drug-mechanism literature
- Locating actively recruiting clinical trials for a condition
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: find drug repurposing candidates for myasthenia gravis
- 1Query OpenTargets to find the disease ID and top therapeutic targets ranked by evidence score
- 2Search ChEMBL for drugs targeting those genes, filtered by clinical development phase
- 3Check ClinicalTrials.gov for actively recruiting trials related to the disease
- 4Pull OpenFDA adverse event reports for candidate drugs to identify safety signals
- 5Search PubMed for recent literature supporting or challenging the repurposing hypothesis
A ranked list of drug candidates with target evidence scores, trial recruitment status, and safety summaries
