What This Skill Does
A skill that reports server health by running a local shell script and returning CPU load averages, RAM, swap, and disk usage in a concise summary. Uptime is included. Relies on native system calls rather than external agents.
Uses native system calls instead of third-party monitoring daemons, so it works on any Unix-like server without installing additional software.
When to use it
- Checking CPU load before launching a resource-intensive job
- Verifying free disk space before a large file transfer
- Reviewing RAM and swap pressure on a low-memory VPS
- Confirming server uptime after a scheduled reboot
- Getting a quick health snapshot during active incident triage
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: What's the current server health?
- 1Receives the request and maps it to the system resource monitor skill
- 2Executes the local ./scripts/monitor.sh script
- 3Collects output for CPU 1/5/15-minute load averages, RAM and swap usage, and root disk capacity
- 4Formats the collected metrics into a structured health report
- 5Returns the report with uptime included
A summary showing CPU load averages, RAM and swap usage percentages, disk capacity and usage, and how long the server has been running
