What This Skill Does

Connects to the Name.com CORE API to search, register, and manage domains. Handles DNS records (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, and more), automates ACME DNS-01 certificate challenges, and updates dynamic DNS for home-lab or residential setups.

The code-enforced dry-run gate and one-time purchase token make it impossible to accidentally register a domain or incur charges without explicit confirmation.

When to use it

  • Searching for available .dev or .app domains by keyword
  • Registering a new domain with a confirmed purchase flow
  • Adding or removing DNS records for a deployed app
  • Automating Let's Encrypt DNS-01 challenges for TLS certificates
  • Keeping home-lab subdomains updated when your public IP changes

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Find me a cheap .dev domain for 'coolproject' and register it

AGENT
  1. 1Calls search_domain with keyword='coolproject' and tldFilter=['dev','app'] to list available options with pricing
  2. 2Presents results to the user for selection
  3. 3Calls register_domain with dryRun=true to get a quote and purchaseToken
  4. 4Shows the user the quote and waits for explicit confirmation with the 6-digit token
  5. 5Calls register_domain with dryRun=false and the purchaseToken to complete registration
OUTPUT

Domain registered with WHOIS privacy and registrar lock enabled
