npx clawhub install gmail-skill

What This Skill Does

Automates Gmail inbox management: summarizing unread messages, purging spam and trash, managing labels, filing messages, and deleting old emails by date. Long-running operations run as background daemons and report results via WhatsApp when complete.

Background execution daemonizes long cleanup tasks so they complete independently even if the agent session times out.

When to use it

  • Reviewing a morning summary of unread inbox messages
  • Purging spam and trash folders on a weekly schedule
  • Moving newsletters from inbox into a dedicated label
  • Deleting an old project label along with all its messages
  • Removing emails older than a set date from a specific folder

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Clean out my spam and trash folders

AGENT
  1. 1Wraps gmail-cleanup.sh in the background task daemon using the user's GMAIL_ACCOUNT
  2. 2Background process starts and returns immediately without blocking the agent
  3. 3Script purges all messages from spam and trash via Gmail API
  4. 4Progress updates are sent every 30 seconds; final counts delivered when done
OUTPUT

Spam and trash folders emptied with actual purged message counts reported via WhatsApp
