What This Skill Does
Applies the Elliott Wave Principle to financial market analysis through a set of structured reference files. Covers wave counting, impulse and corrective patterns, Fibonacci retracement ratios, and labeling conventions. Multiple interpretations are handled by referencing prioritized rules over guidelines.
Having all rules, pattern descriptions, and Fibonacci ratios in modular reference files means the agent loads only what is relevant rather than working from incomplete recall.
When to use it
- Counting waves on a stock chart to locate current position in a trend
- Identifying whether a pullback is a zigzag, flat, or triangle correction
- Setting price targets using Fibonacci retracement and extension ratios
- Validating a wave count against impulse rules before placing a trade
- Explaining Elliott Wave terminology like truncation or throw-over to a client
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: I think we're in wave 3 of a 5-wave impulse on the S&P 500 daily chart — can you confirm my count and give me a Fibonacci target?
- 1Loads impulse-waves.md to verify the structural rules for wave 3
- 2Checks that wave 3 is not the shortest and wave 4 does not overlap wave 1
- 3Loads fibonacci-relationships.md to calculate common wave 3 extension targets
- 4Returns the validated count with Fibonacci price projections and notes any rule violations
Confirmed wave 3 count with rule check results and Fibonacci extension levels at 1.618x and 2.618x of wave 1
