Version History

v0.1.1Feb 17, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Switch to uv-first usage, remove absolute paths to avoid username/home leakage, add pyproject.toml

What This Skill Does

Searches Geizhals.at, Austria's price comparison site, using plain HTTP requests. Fetches product candidates via autocomplete, parses detail pages, and returns minimum price, cheapest shop, offer count, and price confidence as structured JSON.

Uses plain HTTP instead of browser automation, so it runs faster and with no headless browser overhead for simple price lookups.

When to use it

  • Check the cheapest Austrian retailer for a laptop before buying
  • Look up current iPhone prices across Austrian online shops
  • Find the lowest price on a specific power tool from Austrian stores
  • Get a quick price estimate on PC components without opening a browser
  • Retrieve structured price data for a product to track over time

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: What is the cheapest place to buy a Mac Mini in Austria right now?

AGENT
  1. 1Calls the Geizhals autocomplete endpoint with query 'mac mini'
  2. 2Selects the top matching product candidate from the results
  3. 3Fetches the candidate's detail page via HTTP
  4. 4Parses min_price_eur, shop, offer_count, price_confidence, and price_source from the HTML
  5. 5Returns a JSON record with schema_version 1.0 and all extracted fields
OUTPUT

JSON record showing min_price_eur, the cheapest shop name, number of offers, and a price_confidence rating of high, medium, low, or unknown
