What This Skill Does
Phone number verification via one-time code using Didit's standalone API. Sends a code to the user's phone through SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, or voice call, then validates the code they provide. Also detects disposable, VoIP, and high-risk numbers.
Combines OTP delivery across four channels with built-in fraud signals like disposable and VoIP detection, so you don't need separate services for each.
When to use it
- Verifying phone numbers during account signup
- Adding phone-based 2FA to an existing login flow
- Blocking disposable or VoIP numbers from registering
- Sending OTP via WhatsApp when SMS delivery fails
- Flagging high-risk phones before processing a transaction
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: verify the phone number +14155552671 via SMS
- 1Calls POST /v3/phone/send/ with the phone number and channel set to sms
- 2Waits for the user to provide the 6-digit code they received
- 3Calls POST /v3/phone/check/ with the phone number and the code
- 4Reads the response status to determine if the code is Approved, Failed, or Declined
- 5Returns carrier info and any fraud warnings from the phone object
Phone verified as Approved, carrier ATT (mobile), US number, not disposable, not VoIP
