What This Skill Does

Fetches AI-powered marine weather forecasts for any coordinates worldwide using the SeaLegs API. Each forecast day gets a GO, CAUTION, or NO-GO safety classification based on wind, waves, visibility, and precipitation. Forecasts can be tailored to vessel type and size.

Raw marine weather data requires expertise to interpret; this skill returns ready-to-use GO/CAUTION/NO-GO ratings calibrated to the user's specific vessel type.

When to use it

  • Checking conditions before a weekend sailboat trip
  • Planning departure windows for a multi-day offshore passage
  • Getting vessel-specific GO/NO-GO ratings for a powerboat outing
  • Refreshing a saved forecast on the morning of a trip
  • Comparing wave and wind conditions across a 5-day fishing window

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: What are the marine conditions in Miami for the next 2 days for my 35ft sailboat?

AGENT
  1. 1Create a SpotCast with Miami coordinates, a 2-day range, and sailboat vessel info
  2. 2Poll the status endpoint every 10-15 seconds until status is 'completed'
  3. 3Retrieve the completed SpotCast with full AI analysis
  4. 4Return the daily GO/CAUTION/NO-GO classifications and condition summaries
OUTPUT

Day 1: GO - Light winds under 7kt, calm 1.1-1.6ft seas, best window 5am-12pm. Day 2: GO - Very light winds 1-6kt, minimal 1.2-1.3ft seas all day.
