Version History

v0.1.5Feb 21, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Add explicit user-approval gates for high-privilege actions: browser automation, openclaw.json modification, and gateway restart must each be confirmed before execution.

What This Skill Does

Creates a new OpenClaw agent and binds it to a dedicated Telegram group with an isolated workspace at ~/claw-<agent-name>. Provisioning is script-driven, with automatic config backup and no credential propagation between agents. User confirmation is required before any high-privilege actions.

Script-driven provisioning with automatic backups prevents manual JSON errors and eliminates credential leakage between agents.

When to use it

  • Spinning up a new assistant bot in a private Telegram group
  • Giving each specialized agent its own dedicated chat channel
  • Reinitializing an agent workspace with custom identity and persona files
  • Provisioning a team-facing bot without manually editing JSON configs
  • Enabling no-mention reply mode so a group chat responds without @-tagging the bot

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Create an agent called 'research-bot' with its own Telegram group

AGENT
  1. 1Read available models from ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json and confirm agent name, model, and init-file preferences with user
  2. 2Create workspace directory ~/claw-research-bot
  3. 3Confirm with user, then trigger browser automation to create and bind a new Telegram group titled 'ResearchBot'
  4. 4Run scripts/provision_config.py to register the agent, set the workspace path, add the group binding, and enable requireMention=false
  5. 5Run scripts/init_workspace.py to write USER.md, IDENTITY.md, and SOUL.md, then send a test ping to verify the agent replies without @mention
OUTPUT

Agent 'research-bot' is live in the ResearchBot Telegram group, replying without @mention, with workspace at ~/claw-research-bot
