What This Skill Does
An AI research agent for finance topics. It follows a structured two-phase workflow: collecting data through web searches and URL scraping, then synthesizing findings into a cited report with inline source references. User input is treated as ground truth, and the agent never substitutes unfamiliar terms or versions with known alternatives.
A built-in deadlock mechanism stops repeated failed searches after two attempts and moves forward, avoiding the infinite loops common in less structured research agents.
When to use it
- Researching recent news on a specific stock or ticker
- Looking up details on a new financial instrument or product
- Investigating a fintech startup's funding history and business model
- Tracking regulatory changes affecting a specific market sector
- Compiling background on an earnings report or analyst forecast
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Research the latest developments in SOFR transition for US banks
- 1Formulates 3-5 search angles covering SOFR timeline, bank adoption rates, and regulatory guidance
- 2Creates a research log document and executes parallel searches
- 3Reads up to 4 authoritative URLs and appends key findings to the log
- 4Identifies remaining gaps and runs focused follow-up searches to fill them
- 5Synthesizes all findings into a structured report with inline citations and a numbered reference list
A research report covering SOFR transition milestones, bank compliance status, and regulatory deadlines with cited sources
