What This Skill Does
Scans Norman Finance transactions to find potentially missed tax deductions for German freelancers and small businesses. It checks for miscategorized expenses across home office, software, travel, and professional development, then estimates additional deductible amounts and approximate tax savings.
It reads your actual transaction data and maps findings to SKR04 categories directly, producing specific corrections rather than generic tax advice.
When to use it
- Reviewing all 2025 transactions before filing your Steuererklärung
- Checking if SaaS subscriptions are properly categorized as Betriebsausgaben
- Finding home office costs that weren't marked as deductible
- Identifying miscategorized business travel or meal expenses
- Recategorizing a hardware purchase under GWG rules for full same-year deduction
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Can you check if I missed any deductions in 2025?
- 1Calls search_transactions to retrieve all 2025 transactions
- 2Calls get_company_details to identify the business type and structure
- 3Calls list_tax_settings to check VAT status and applicable tax regime
- 4Scans each transaction against known German deduction categories and flags miscategorized or unverified entries
- 5Calls categorize_transaction for each user-confirmed correction and produces a summary with estimated savings
A list of flagged transactions with suggested SKR04 categories, total estimated additional deductible amount in EUR, and approximate tax savings based on a 30-42% marginal rate
