What This Skill Does
Fetches alternative financial data from Quiver Quantitative using a Python CLI script. Covers US Congress member stock trades, corporate lobbying spend, government contracts, and insider transactions. All data returns as JSON arrays.
Consolidates four separate alternative data endpoints into one CLI tool, avoiding direct Quiver API calls for each data type.
When to use it
- Checking which stocks Congress members traded this week
- Researching lobbying spend before an earnings call
- Finding companies winning government contracts in a specific sector
- Tracking insider buying activity on a ticker like TSLA
- Monitoring a specific politician's recent portfolio moves
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Has Nancy Pelosi traded NVDA recently?
- 1Runs query_quiver.py with the congress subcommand and --politician 'Nancy Pelosi' flag
- 2Fetches congressional trading records from Quiver Quantitative API using QUIVER_API_KEY
- 3Receives a JSON array of all Pelosi trade records
- 4Pipes output through jq filtering for Ticker == 'NVDA'
JSON records showing Pelosi's NVDA transactions including trade date, amount, and transaction type
