What This Skill Does

SoulForge monitors your conversation history, decisions, and recurring phrases across sessions, then proposes targeted edits to your SOUL.md. It identifies gaps between what you wrote in your soul file and how you actually behave, and requires your explicit approval before writing any change.

Manual soul file edits rely on self-perception, which drifts from actual behavior; SoulForge uses observed session data to surface what is true rather than what you remember or intend.

When to use it

  • Updating a soul file that no longer reflects how you actually communicate
  • Finding out which topics you return to across sessions without prompting
  • Catching declared values in SOUL.md that your behavior contradicts
  • Reviewing how your tone shifts by time of day or session length
  • Restoring a previous SOUL.md version after an update you regret

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Forge my soul

  3. 3Identifies aspiration gaps between declared values and observed behavior
  4. 4Generates a readable diff of proposed changes with a reason for each
  5. 5Presents each change for user approval before writing anything to SOUL.md
OUTPUT

Approved changes written to SOUL.md, previous version backed up to backups/soul-YYYY-MM-DD.md with a timestamped changelog entry
