What This Skill Does
Renders LaTeX math expressions to PNG, JPEG, WebP, or AVIF images using MathJax for TeX-to-SVG conversion. When active, the agent automatically renders any LaTeX in its replies and sends images in reading order without prompting the user. Output defaults to PNG files saved locally, with optional Data URL output.
Eliminates the need to copy LaTeX into an external renderer by converting formulas to images inline, in the natural reading order of the conversation.
When to use it
- Rendering physics equations for a study guide
- Converting calculus expressions to shareable image files
- Visualizing chemistry notation inline in chat
- Embedding matrices and integrals in technical documentation
- Exporting scientific formulas as JPEG or WebP for web use
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Show me the Euler-Lagrange equation as an image
- 1Sends preceding plain text to the user
- 2Runs render.js with the LaTeX expression via shell using single-quote escaping
- 3Parses the returned JSON for the PNG file path
- 4Sends the image file with a short caption
