What This Skill Does

Formats text by capitalizing sentence starts, fixing spacing around periods, and removing trailing whitespace. Uses a Python script at scripts/formatter.py to apply the rules.

Handles common text normalization rules in a single pass without manual editing.

When to use it

  • Cleaning up pasted notes with inconsistent spacing
  • Fixing capitalization in rough draft text
  • Normalizing punctuation in user-submitted content
  • Tidying sentences copied from multiple sources
  • Standardizing formatting in documentation snippets

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: format 'hello world.this is a test.'

AGENT
  1. 1Receives the raw input text
  2. 2Capitalizes the first letter of each sentence
  3. 3Ensures a single space follows each period
  4. 4Removes trailing whitespace
  5. 5Returns the cleaned text
OUTPUT

Hello world. This is a test.
