Version History

v1.0.2Feb 17, 2026 - Version note by skill developer:

Docs: add disable/uninstall instructions; clarify stopping active shares and removal.

What This Skill Does

Starts a temporary Node.js HTTP server to serve a single file via a tokenized URL, accessible only on local network or VPN. Tokens expire after a configurable duration (default 1 hour, max 24 hours) and can optionally be invalidated after the first successful download.

Avoids cloud uploads or persistent file server setup by spinning up a temporary, token-protected link that self-expires.

When to use it

  • Sharing a local PDF with a colleague on the same office network
  • Sending a preview image to a teammate over VPN
  • Giving one-time access to a config file during a pairing session
  • Sharing a markdown report without uploading to cloud storage
  • Serving a log file to a remote coworker connected via VPN

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Share report.md with my colleague for the next 2 hours

AGENT
  1. 1Locate the absolute path of report.md in the workspace
  2. 2Run share.sh with the file path and a 2-hour validity argument
  3. 3Node.js HTTP server starts on an auto-assigned port
  4. 4Generate a 32-character hex token and build the access URL
  5. 5Return the clickable link to the user
OUTPUT

http://192.168.0.219:8888/?token=<hex_token>, valid for 2 hours
