What This Skill Does
Captures screenshots of any URL and saves them as image files. Supports device emulation (iPhone, iPad, Pixel, MacBook), dark mode, full-page capture, and ad blocking. The agent runs a curl command via the exec tool rather than a browser.
Lets agents visually inspect any website without a browser tool, using a single curl command with full control over device, render mode, and output format.
When to use it
- Checking how a competitor's site looks on mobile
- Capturing a landing page in dark mode before a design review
- Taking a full-page scroll screenshot of long documentation
- Comparing desktop and iPhone layouts side by side
- Archiving a live webpage as a JPEG for a report
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: Screenshot stripe.com on iPhone 15 Pro in dark mode
- 1URL-encodes the target URL: https%3A%2F%2Fstripe.com
- 2Builds the curl command with device=iphone_15_pro and dark_mode=true parameters
- 3Executes the command via the exec tool using the SNAPRENDER_API_KEY header
- 4Decodes the base64 image response and saves it to /tmp/screenshot.jpg
- 5Reports metadata to the user: file size, response time, cache status, remaining credits
Screenshot saved to /tmp/screenshot.jpg with metadata reported (file size, response time, cache hit, remaining credits)
