What This Skill Does
Analyzes websites and domains using SimilarWeb traffic data. Returns total visits, unique visitors, bounce rate, pages per visit, global ranking, traffic channel breakdown, and geographic distribution. Historical data covers up to 12 months at monthly granularity.
Retrieves structured traffic, ranking, and channel data from SimilarWeb in a single API call without requiring manual exports or a browser session.
When to use it
- Checking how much traffic a competitor's site receives each month
- Comparing organic vs paid search share across two e-commerce domains
- Finding which countries send the most visitors to a target website
- Tracking a site's global ranking trend over the past six months
- Auditing engagement metrics before approaching a site for a partnership
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: What are the main traffic sources for shopify.com over the last 3 months?
- 1Calls SimilarWeb/get_traffic_sources_desktop with domain 'shopify.com' and the last 3-month date range
- 2Calls SimilarWeb/get_traffic_sources_mobile with the same parameters
- 3Parses channel percentages (organic search, direct, referrals, paid, social, display, email) from both responses
- 4Saves raw API results to a local file to prevent data loss
- 5Returns a side-by-side summary of desktop vs mobile channel breakdown
