Add pronunciation comparison workflow and immediate-add behavior for new words
What This Skill Does
Tracks vocabulary from books, podcasts, and daily reading through a 3-step learning process and spaced repetition schedule. Words progress from active learning through long-term review to mastery. Supports pronunciation comparison sets, scheduled quizzes via cron, and French word entries with audio clips.
Vocabulary stays attached to its original reading context, so meaning, page number, and source are always part of the entry instead of isolated flashcards.
When to use it
- Adding an unfamiliar word while reading a novel
- Practicing pronunciation differences between similar-sounding words
- Running a scheduled hourly vocabulary quiz
- Reviewing all words collected from a specific book
- Checking which words are due for spaced repetition review today
Example Workflow
Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.
User asks: I just encountered the word 'ephemeral' on page 42 of my book
- 1Provides IPA pronunciation and a plain-language meaning
- 2Lists synonyms the user likely already knows
- 3Appends a word entry with book, page, date, and context sentence to memory/vocabulary.md
- 4Displays the completed word card
- 5Sets the word as pending for next-day review in the spaced repetition queue
Word card displayed, entry saved to tracker, review scheduled for tomorrow
