Setup & Installation

openclaw skills install @xiaowenzhou/active-maintenance

Or with the ClawHub CLI, for registry-managed skill folders outside a full OpenClaw workspace:

npx clawhub install active-maintenance

What This Skill Does

Automated maintenance for OpenClaw environments covering disk usage monitoring, temp file cleanup, and memory deduplication. Dense notes are distilled into core insights through a memory metabolism process. Every cycle is logged to MEMORY/DECISIONS/ for auditability.

Combines disk monitoring, cleanup, and memory distillation into a single automated cycle instead of managing separate scripts for each concern.

When to use it

  • Clearing old temp files after heavy agent workloads
  • Monitoring disk pressure before starting large tasks
  • Deduplicating fragmented memory entries in Kim Assistant
  • Condensing verbose notes into concise summaries
  • Auditing past maintenance cycles via decision logs

Example Workflow

Here's how your AI assistant might use this skill in practice.

INPUT

User asks: Run full maintenance on the OpenClaw environment

AGENT
  1. 1Check disk usage against configured threshold and flag warnings
  2. 2Scan TEMP_DIRS for files older than configured days and remove them
  3. 3Deduplicate memory fragments in the memory store
  4. 4Summarize dense notes into core insights via resource distillation
  5. 5Log the maintenance cycle to MEMORY/DECISIONS/ with timestamp and actions taken
OUTPUT

Clean environment with deduplicated, distilled memory and a new decision log entry for the cycle
